4 of UN Sustainability Goals Highlight Camfil’s Global Impact
In 2015, the United Nations (UN) launched 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The SDGs aim to protect the earth, fight poverty, and reduce inequality globally, meaning that businesses must make significant efforts to help meet them.
Camfil is committed to all 17 of the Sustainable Development Goals, but has determined that they can make the most impact on the following four.
SDG #3 — Good Health and Well-Being
“Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.” All of Camfil’s work revolves around improving health and well-being for all by protecting human beings from harmful contaminants in the air
SDG #8 — Decent Work and Economic Growth
“Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all.” Camfil provides safe working conditions for over 4800 employees across the world, enriching economic growth in the 30 countries the company operates in. Additionally, Camfil’s Code of Business Ethics, Code of Conduct and Health and Safety Handbook protect employees and customers alike.
SDG #11 — Sustainable Cities and Communities
“Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable.” With some of the most energy efficient air filtration systems available on the market, Camfil’s products not only aid human health concerns and make cities safer by reducing the volume of harmful pollutants that enter people’s lungs, but do so with less negative impact on the environment than most other filters.
SDG #12 — Responsible Production and Consumption
“Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.” Across Camfil’s four business areas (filtration solutions, air pollution control, power systems, and molecular contamination control), Camfil is committed to continually improving processes and products to better protect the environment.
Camfil and the Pandemic — Fast Innovation Provides Critical Air Quality Solutions
Camfil’s clean air solutions were vital to the fight against the coronavirus around the world, providing devices to quickly and easily create pressurized isolation rooms in hospitals to contain virus spread, as well as commercial and industrial solutions to keep people in public buildings safe.
Additionally, Camfil leveraged decades of research and expertise to design FFP2-standard masks for healthcare workers on the front lines.
